City Guarantees Baby to Have BPJS Kesehatan

The entire Jakarta residents are expected already protected by the Social Security Management Agency (BPJS). Even, every newborn child in the city will directly be registered in BPJS.

"Our Jamkesda (regional health insurance) must be active, when the baby was born, they must be registered in BPJS. We will cover its costs," disclosed Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, Tuesday (6/14).

According to Basuki, Jakartans are supposed to be registered in Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan). Hence, Jamkesda is expected work to record residents who do not have BPJS due to poor.

City & BPJS Kesehatan Cooperate for Premium Payments

"City Budget (APBD) is ready to cover all premiums. Jamkesda registers all poor people when they go to the hospital. Just explain that it was a hassle without BPJS, thus they can directly have BPJS card," he disclosed.

He added BPJS is one of the characteristics of mutual cooperation of the nation, where for the privileged people can subsidize the needy. Thus there are no more people are in debt and sell assets due to illness.
