Seven Bridges along Bokor River Successfully Restored

The North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency has concluded the rehabilitation of seven bridges spanning Bokor River in the Kalibaru area of Cilincing.

These repairs serve as a direct sequel to the dredging activities

The rebuilding of these pedestrian access points is essential to restore community connectivity in the wake of the recent river dredging project.

North Jakarta Drainage Maintenance Section Head, Rezky Arie Pranata noted that the bridges span RT 01, 03, and 15/RW 07. These crossings had been temporarily demolished to provide passage for heavy equipment used in normalization and silt dredging efforts at Bokor River.

"These repairs serve as a direct sequel to the dredging activities. By rebuilding the dismantled bridges, we aim to reinstate residents' connectivity and mobility, making daily travel seamless, secure, and comfortable once again," he expressed, Wednesday (6/17).

He elaborated that the dimensions of each bridge were tailored to meet the specific requirements of their respective locations. The spans range from 4.5 to 6 meters in length and 1.2 to 2.2 meters in width, featuring a concrete slab thickness of approximately 40 centimeters.

According to him, the project was executed by 19 personnel deployed across multiple sites. The bridges were engineered for structural integrity, ensuring they remain robust without impeding the hydrological flow below.

"The construction, underway since March 31, 2026, is now 100 percent complete and accessible to the public," he explained.

He added that based on a formal understanding with neighborhood representatives, the bridges have been designated as assets of the North Jakarta SDA Sub-agency. This provision ensures that the structures can be disassembled if required for future maintenance or dredging activities.

"Locals and community units have voiced their full concurrence and support. They have agreed that should the structures require disassembly to provide passage for heavy equipment during dredging activities, no obstacles will be raised by any stakeholders," he stressed.

This work received appreciation from RW 07 Chair, Kalibaru Urban Village, Caharudin.

He anticipates that the presence of these sturdier structures will not only improve public liveability but also facilitate environmental upkeep along the Bokor River waterway.

"Those bridges are critical thoroughfares for the community’s day-to-day activities. We remain steadfast in our support for the government’s infrastructure mandates, especially here in Kalibaru,” he stated.
