40 Tons Beef Arrive in PD Dharma Jaya

As many as two containers of 40 tons frozen beef from Australia have arrived in PD Dharma Jaya, Tuesday (6/14). Later on, the imported beef will be distributed to traditional market for market operation.

Jakarta has import quota by 500 tons. The early stage is 270 tons

Franky Mangatas, Jakarta Assistant of Economy, said Jakarta needs to import the beef since the local stock is not adequate. It means the fulfilment of beef supply to citizens is not maximal.

“Jakarta will also develop a cow husbandry to add the stock,” he said, Tuesday (6/14).

Meanwhile, PD Dharma Jaya Director, Marina Ratna Dwi Kusumajati, admitted city is only able to be supplied as many as 3-5 percent of total production in Indonesia.

“Jakarta has import quota by 500 tons. The early stage is 270 tons. The rest supply will be distributed after Eid up to August 31,” she stated.
