Pramono Slated to Commission Twin Infrastructure Projects

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is set to officiate two infrastructure projects marking the city’s 499th anniversary. A centerpiece of this initiative is the revamped Jalan Rasuna Said district, due for inauguration on June 21, 2026.

The development concludes a period of restructuring following the clearance of abandoned monorail infrastructure. Governor maintains that the improved layout of Jalan Rasuna Said will effectively reduce traffic congestion.

"I will be officiating the opening of the newly transformed Jalan Rasuna Said on June 21, and I am convinced it will lead to a major reduction in congestion," he expressed, at the Tribrata Dharmawangsa Building, Thursday (6/18).

Once inaugurated, the Jalan Rasuna Said area will officially host Car Free Day (CFD) every weekend. Concurrent with this unveiling, Pramono is also set to break ground on the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck project.

"Beyond the street naming, we are scheduled to break ground on the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck on June 21," he remarked.

The occasion will also feature a formal rally for the waste segregation campaign, pursuant to Gubernatorial Instruction No. 5/2022. He asserted that promoting waste sorting remains a pivotal priority for the Jakarta administration in its efforts to resolve the city's waste challenges at the upstream level.

The next day, June 22, 2026, Pramono will formally open the Ancol-JIS connecting bridge and the newly completed train station. The launch is dedicated as a gift for Jakarta’s residents.

"On the 22nd, we are slated to inaugurate the Ancol-JIS connection and the commuter station as well," he noted.

The Jakarta government is also set to organize the first-ever haul for Betawi ulama and habaib on June 19, 2026, as a tribute to the religious and community leaders who shaped Jakarta’s progress.

"Given that the law now enshrines Betawi cultural identity as the hallmark of Jakarta, this memorial is dedicated to the Betawi people," added Pramono.

To mark the city’s anniversary, the Jakarta government will offer a special gift to the public by waiving fares for all transit services under its management—including Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta—on June 22, 27, and 28, 2026.

"On those same dates, admission to Ancol, Ragunan, various museums, Monas, and other landmarks will also be free of charge. This is the gift from the Jakarta government to its residents," he emphasized.
