To enliven Jakarta’s 499th anniversary, the Jakarta City Council is presenting the Kebon Sirih Night Market at its headquarters' grounds starting from 6 PM.
This isn’t a new event; it has a long history
This festive event features an array of free attractions, from carnival games with prizes and a food bazaar to outdoor movie screenings in the dedicated 'Nobar' area.
Jakarta City Council Commission E Member, Oman Rohman Rakinda expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming public response. According to him, the Kebon Sirih Night Market has evolved into a cherished Jakarta Anniversary tradition.

This isn’t a new event; it has a long history. I want to thank the Kebon Sirih residents for showing such great enthusiasm every single year,” he remarked.
He elaborated that the event offers diverse attractions for the community, ranging from traditional entertainment and outdoor movie screenings to games and MSME stalls. The high attendance, he noted, proves that the program initiated by the City Council and the Jakarta government has garnered a positive response.
“Foot traffic at the bazaar is also picking up. It’s clear that the public is genuinely interested in this joint initiative between City Council and Jakarta government,” he added.
During the event, Oman offered his congratulations to the capital. He envisioned the Jakarta Anniversary celebrations as a source of pride for its all residents.
As Jakarta approaches its 500th anniversary in 2027, Oman hopes the city will continue to evolve into a comfortable and vibrant place to work, live, and innovate.
“May Jakarta be a place for us all to work, live, and grow, while providing hope for the community to continue their creative pursuits,” he expressed.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of the City Council and the Jakarta government to continuously enhance the quality of public services.
"Hopefully, we (council members) and the Jakarta government can become the finest public servants for the people of Jakarta,” he concluded.
