To enliven Jakarta’s 499th anniversary, the Jakarta Kota Tua Management Unit (UPK) is hosting the Jakarta Light Festival, an entertainment showcase running from Sunday (6/21) through Monday (6/22). Open to the public free of charge, the festivities take place daily from 4 PM to 9 PM.

Kota Tua UPK Head, Denny Aputra said that besides the captivating light art installations, visitors were treated to live performances by Band Drive, Fajar Sadboy x Blacklink, Cut Mila, and Indri AFI.
"Yesterday, on the opening day, approximately 25 visitors attended to enjoy the festivities," he expressed, Monday (6/22).

Additionally, various installations, including the iconic ondel-ondel, have been adorned with decorative lights, serving as picturesque backdrops for photography.
"For today’s schedule, we will feature a singer and a DJ from France to entertain the crowd," he added.
He hoped that the event would solidify the Kota Tua’s reputation as an inclusive, world-class cultural destination and a true source of pride for all Jakartans.
"Hope these various events and activities will reinforce Jakarta’s vision of becoming a Cultured Global City," he emphasized.
