The South Jakarta City administration, in collaboration with the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), is rolling out a series of measures to tackle illegal parking in Senopati, Mulawarman, and Suryo areas of Kebayoran Baru.
This area is also a high-traffic corridor used by many every day
These efforts aim to ensure smooth traffic flow while bolstering local economic activity.
South Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Ali Murthadho noted that Senopati and its surrounding areas serve as a vibrant economic hub, bustling with diverse businesses.

He explained that every business needs to offer adequate parking to prevent their activities from hindering traffic flow or affecting the community's convenience.
"We’re heading out to the field as a team to find the ultimate solution for Senopati’s parking mess and restore order for the community," he explained.
Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Budi Awaluddin assured that a number of parking zones are being mapped out for maximum use.
"We’ve identified the city-owned SDN 04 Selong grounds as a prime candidate to be repurposed into a parking hub," he stated.
He added that the city will maximize the potential of Jakpro’s land in Blok S by rolling out essential infrastructure improvements.
"While many drivers are eager to park there, the site isn't quite ready to serve as a decent parking hub. We’re going to hammer out the details to bring it up to par," he added.
There is also significant potential in utilizing District 8 Mall’s high-capacity parking facilities. The current focus is on streamlining valet operations to make them faster and more efficient.
To support it, a feasibility study is underway to introduce feeder bus services that will enhance mobility throughout the Senopati area
Under this scheme, visitors can park their vehicles at designated spots and hop on a feeder bus to reach their final destination.
"We are exploring solutions like looping shuttle buses for these areas. Since this district has become a major tourism and lifestyle hotspot, these buses will serve as a convenient link for both valet staff and customers," he added.
Beyond long-term planning, immediate enforcement is in full swing. Joint task forces are actively patrolling the streets to clear weekend illegal parking.
"We are intensifying patrols on Friday and Saturday nights. Additionally, CCTV will be installed across the Senopati corridor as part of our high-tech surveillance strategy," he concluded.
