Head of the Sub-agency, Novy Christine Palit said this sterilization is the result of collaboration with the Indonesian Environmental Care Foundation (YPLI) as an effort to control the cat population while improving animal health.

"This program is part of the animal health services routinely implemented by the Jakarta Provincial Government," she said.

Novy explained that throughout 2026, her team is targeting sterilization of 1,700 cats through a collaborative program.

"Until early July, the realization of the program had reached 843 cats," she explained.

In addition to sterilizing male cats, Novy continued, the sub-agency also runs a type III self-managed program for sterilizing female cats in collaboration with the Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI).

"This program targets 500 female cats throughout this year," she continued.

According to her, people who want to participate in the free cat sterilization program are required to register via the link announced on the official Instagram account of the North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency.

"We encourage the public to regularly vaccinate and sterilize their pets. This not only ensures the health of cats but also ensures the safety and well-being of the public," she appealed.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Nurjanah (31) admitted that she was really helped by the free cat sterilization program.

"I brought two male cats. It was a huge help, as private clinics are quite expensive," she admitted.
