350 Johar Baru Residents Receive Food Aid

A total of 350 residents from four urban villages in Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta, Thursday (7/9), received food aid packages held at the Pandawa RPTRA, Tanah Tinggi.

The Assistant for Administration and Public Welfare of Central Jakarta, Nurhidayat, said that the food aid packages resulting from synergy with community organizations were distributed to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and stunted toddlers.

The food aid distributed contained five kilograms of rice, 10 eggs and one can of biscuits.

He also hopes that the distribution of food aid will encourage other community organizations to collaborate with the Central Jakarta City Government.
"We cannot handle this alone, we need the support of all parties to overcome various social problems in society," he added.
Meanwhile, one of the residents, Nia Novenia (30) appreciated the food aid distributed to underprivileged residents from community organizations.
"I received information and was registered to receive food assistance from the Galur PKK cadres. I regularly check my child's growth and development at the urban village health post (Posyandu)," she admitted.
