The Pegangsaan Dua-Manggarai LRT Project Reaches 95 Percent Completion

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung stated that the construction progress of the Jakarta LRT project on the Pegangsaan Dua-Manggarai route has reached 95 percent and is targeted to be ready for inauguration by President Prabowo Subianto in August 2026.

Currently the progress is 95 percent

"Currently the progress is 95 percent and we hope that in August it can be inaugurated by the President," said Pramono, Tuesday (7/14).

Pramono wants the inauguration of the Pegangsaan Dua-Manggarai LRT route to be carried out by President Prabowo Subianto because the presence of this mode of transportation will change the face of Jakarta's transportation.

This mass transportation project, which is being fully carried out by PT Waskita Karya and PT Nindya Karya, is expected to alleviate the long traffic jams that often occur in the area.

The Jakarta LRT route from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai is 12.2 kilometers long and includes 11 stations. The budget allocated for this route is approximately Rp11.5 trillion.

Meanwhile, the 2.1 km extension from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas will be built, with a budget of approximately Rp2.7 trillion. Pramono projects this work will be completed in 2028.

"And if that happens, we can imagine people from Pondok Labu who want to eat in Kelapa Gading, the travel time is under an hour," he added.

Pramono also believes that transportation connectivity in Jakarta will be even more complete with the construction of the 22 km north-south MRT project.

Furthermore, the Jakarta LRT, from Pegangsaan Dua to Manggarai, is projected to serve 80,000 passengers. Furthermore, Pramono also authorized creative financing, such as naming rights, at the 11 LRT stations planned.

"Hopefully this will also be a role model for all of us to solve transportation problems in Jakarta," he continued.

Regarding ticket prices, Pramono stated that the amount is still being calculated. However, he assured that the rates decided upon will remain affordable for the public.
