SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Receives Psychological Support After Terror Attack

The Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency continues to monitor students' conditions following the bomb threat at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head Dwi Oktavia said the agency is stepping up child protection efforts by expanding educational outreach in schools.

"For example, we are strengthening educational programs in schools, from elementary to higher education levels, to teach children how to interact positively with others, build healthy relationships with their peers, and avoid bullying," she explained on Tuesday (14/7).

Dwi said the PPAPP Agency is not only supporting students but also educating parents on the importance of healthy communication with their children.

She emphasized that family harmony plays a key role in helping prevent incidents like the recent bomb threat from happening again.

"To help prevent incidents like this from recurring, we encourage every family to build harmonious relationships and spend quality time together. This way, any problems within the family can be discussed openly and resolved together," she noted.

Dwi added that the agency is continuing to monitor developments related to the incident at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15. However, its primary focus is fostering healthy communication and interaction among children, parents, and schools.

She also urged parents to create opportunities for their children to talk about how they feel after the incident.

"If children feel uneasy or anxious, parents should provide positive reassurance so they do not become overwhelmed by their worries," she said.

To support these efforts, Dwi said the PPAPP Agency provides family counseling services that can be accessed through puspa.jakarta.go.id.

"The service offers counselors based on each family's needs, covering parenting, child development, and other family-related issues," she added.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta PPAPP Sub-agency Head Rizky Hamid called on parents and schools to strengthen their cooperation in creating a safe, comfortable, and violence-free environment for children.

He emphasized that protecting children starts within the family and is strengthened by a supportive school environment. Parents, he said, should remain actively involved in their children's development through open communication, guidance, and proper supervision.

"Schools must also be safe and welcoming spaces where children feel comfortable speaking up when they face problems," he pointed.
