Jakarta City Council's Commission E Member, Oman Rohman Rakinda hoped the implementation of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) is a pleasant experience for new students.
School should be a joyful place
According to him, schools should be happy places to motivate children to learn. In accordance with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's regulations, the MPLS program in Jakarta will be held for five days, from July 14 to 18, 2025.
"School should be a joyful place. Children come to school with happiness, enthusiastic, and ready to learn," he said, Friday (7/18).
MPLS Encourages Early Moral Development in StudentsHe added that positive atmosphere from the first day of school will have a positive impact on the learning process, both from an academic perspective and character building.
Meanwhile, another Commission E Member, Yudha Permana reminded MPLS should be a moment to introduce students to the school environment without hazing.
"We will take action against hazing. The City Council will continue to monitor the implementation of MPLS, both in public and private schools," he admitted.
