Trees Prone to Falling in Kebayoran Lama Completely Pruned

The Green Troop of the South Jakarta City Parks and Forestry Sub-agency successfully completed the pruning of 56 trees that were broken and prone to falling in the Kebayoran Lama District.

Based on the accumulation of complaints

Head of the Sub-agency, Herlina Merinda said all public reports received through the JAKI application in the Kebayoran Lama District area have been immediately followed up.

5,674 Hazardous Trees Pruned Across Central Jakarta Since January

"The pruning were made based on the accumulation of complaints from residents in Kebayoran Lama District," she said, Thursday (7/16).

According to her, the types of trees pruned included mango, angsana, banyan, coconut, tanjung, areca nut, sapodilla, noni, mahogany, and several other species. Officers also pruned 10 bamboo clumps.

"Most of the trees were reported by residents for obstructing lighting. We also handled trees with rotting trunks or those with potential safety hazards," she added.

Pruning is carried out to improve public safety and comfort, especially when there is rain or strong winds that have the potential to cause trees to fall.

Meanwhile, a resident, Sindarta, admitted that before the pruning, the trees in her area were so dense and blocked the street lighting.

"Now the road conditions are brighter, both during the day and at night," she admitted.
