Pramono Anung Bolsters Jakarta’s Legacy as a Child-Friendly Haven

Celebrating the 42nd National Children’s Day at City Hall, Governor Pramono Anung highlighted Jakarta's identity as a sanctuary for the younger generation. Through play-based festivities, Pramono reaffirmed that child welfare remains at the heart of Jakarta’s urban agenda.

Jakarta remains a welcoming home for children and everyone who visits

"Since 2022, Jakarta has consistently earned the 'Child-Friendly' province award. Hence, today’s celebration is not just a ceremony, but an effort to ensure Jakarta remains a welcoming home for children and everyone who visits," he expressed.

Additionally, he mentioned that the administration is reviewing a proposal from the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI) to establish SPARTA—a neighborhood-level Child Protection Task Force. This aims to strengthen the prevention of violence against children across the capital.

"We will carefully study and review the SPARTA proposal," he added.

LPAI Chairman Seto Mulyadi Applauds Jakarta’s Commitment to Child Rights and Proposes Neighborhood-Level Protection Units

LPAI Chairman, Seto Mulyadi praised the Jakarta government's consistent commitment to implementing child-centric policies and ensuring the optimal fulfillment of children's rights.

According to him, the SPARTA proposal aims to make Jakarta the first province in Indonesia to establish a dedicated child protection section within every neighborhood unit (RT).

"Most RTs already have sections for events, cleanliness, and security. We're proposing to add one more: a child protection section. This ensures that the safety net starts at the level closest to the family—the neighborhood," he explained.

LPAI also presented an award to Pramono Anung as the 'Friend of Children Governor' in recognition of his dedication to child-centric policies in Jakarta.

Further, he announced the upcoming release of the film Sahabat Anak on July 23. The project is designed to inspire a new generation of advocates for child rights and protection.

"This film is part of our continuous effort to cultivate more figures who truly become friends to our children," he concluded.
