Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the provision of lactation rooms in all public and office facilities in Jakarta.
We are also preparing for that
Pramono acknowledged that the availability of lactation rooms in several offices and public facilities in the capital is still unoptimal. Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to promote the provision of these facilities as part of its efforts to maintain Jakarta's status as a child-friendly city.
Pramono Pledges More Green, Safe, and Inclusive Spaces in Jakarta"I also received a lot of input regarding lactation rooms in offices, especially in public facilities owned by Jakarta, which are not yet optimal," said Pramono, Monday (7/20).
However, Pramono cited the Nyi Ageng Serang Library as an example, which already has a lactation room with adequate facilities. He believes that the existence of a lactation room is one of the standards that must be met as Jakarta transforms into a global city.
"As a global city, of course we are also preparing for that," he added.
Pramono emphasized that the provision of lactation rooms will be a key element in the development and management of public spaces in Jakarta. Therefore, every public facility is expected to provide lactation rooms for breastfeeding mothers.
"So, the lactation room will become a movement for anyone who wants to open a public space, and a lactation room will also be prepared. Because Jakarta must once again become a child-friendly and comfortable province," he stated.
