JakCare Mental Health Service Sees Growing Demand Beyond Jakarta

Jakarta Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Head Atika Nur Rahmania said the Jakarta Provincial Government's free mental health service, JakCare, has attracted strong public interest, including from outside the capital.

Of the more than 20,000 calls we received, 24.6 percent came from outside Jakarta

The 24-hour clinical-standard mental health teleconsultation service received 20,419 calls between May 2025 and June 2026. From January to June 2026, the number of calls increased 4.17-fold compared with the May-December 2025 period.

JakCare Services are Increasingly in Demand

Atika shared the figures during the Jakarta Budget Talks themed "Navigating Jakarta's APBD: Strengthening Performance, Safeguarding the Public Interest" at Balairung, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (7/22).

"Of the more than 20,000 calls we received, 24.6 percent came from outside Jakarta," she noted.

According to Atika, the figures reflect growing public awareness of mental health and increasing public trust in government-provided services.

"From our perspective, these services have delivered positive results. They have increased public awareness of mental health care while also drawing users from outside Jakarta," she explained.

On the rehabilitative side, the city's White Troops made 59,023 visits to vulnerable residents, achieving 96.86 percent of their target.

The Jakarta Provincial Government also recorded a health service satisfaction index of 94.75, up 0.99 points from the previous quarter. The increase was supported by the opening of new healthcare facilities, including the Matraman Health Center and the Meruya Selatan 2 Auxiliary Health Center.

"We have also expanded the free health screening program, which has now reached more than 2.5 million residents," she said.
