Transjakarta Instills Public Transport Culture from an Early Age

To celebrate National Children’s Day, PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) recently hosted its signature annual event, ‘Merakids 2026: Play, Learn, and Adventure.’

These children are the leaders of tomorrow

The vibrant program brought together 80 children of Transjakarta employees, aged 4 to 12, for a day of discovery and fun.

This year’s theme went beyond the surface, giving the kids an "all-access pass" to the heart of the city's transport system. They learned that behind every smooth ride is a dedicated ecosystem—from bus drivers and technicians to station officers and dispatchers—all working in harmony to serve the public.

During the event, participants hopped on a Transjakarta bus for a city tour while learning the ropes of traffic safety and road signs.

Transjakarta Finance, HR, and General Affairs Director, Mayangsari Dian Irwantari emphasized that Merakids is a concrete step in building an inclusive, family-friendly workplace.

"We are committed to a public transport ecosystem that is safe and welcoming for families. These children are the leaders of tomorrow, and it is our collective duty to foster a nurturing environment for their growth," she stated, Friday (7/24).

The day was packed with joy, featuring creative art sessions and a market day to spark entrepreneurship. Mayang also highlighted that family harmony is the backbone of employee performance.

"Our hope is that this event deepens the quality time shared between parents and children in their journey of playing and growing together," she hoped.
