The Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, gave his support to the security officer who reprimanded the car driver who broke the red light on the pelican crossing in the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout area, Central Jakarta.

I would ask not to be fired

After repeatedly viewing the incident through CCTV footage owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government, Pramono assessed that the security officer had performed his duties effectively. Therefore, he requested that he not be dismissed from his job.

"I would ask not to be fired or dismissed. In fact, he actually performed his duties very well," said Pramono, Friday (7/24).

Pramono stated that the driver who received the warning was actually violating traffic regulations. Furthermore, he also received a report that the license plate number used by the driver was fake.

"It was the Alphard car that then committed the violation. We also received a report that the car with the plate was a fake one," he stated.

Therefore, the Governor asked law enforcement officers to impose sanctions on drivers who violate these regulations.

"If this cannot be resolved properly, of course the person who did it pretended to have power even though he was wrong, he must be punished," Pramono appealed.
