Jakarta Government Prepares Rp 249 B to Renovate Four Schools

The Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed that it will immediately rehabilitate the damaged SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 building.

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, said that his party has prepared a budget of around Rp 48.1 billion to rebuild the buildings of SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 and SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11.

"We decided to rehabilitate Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 State Elementary School. The budget is Rp 48.1 billion," said Pramono.

The Jakarta Provincial Government is also prioritizing the rehabilitation of other school buildings in poor condition. These include SMAN 102 Jakarta with a budget of Rp 67.5 billion; SDN Cempaka Putih Barat 03 with a budget of Rp 48.4 billion; SDN Papanggo 01 and TKN Papanggo 01 with a budget of Rp 74.1 billion.

Pramono added that Jakarta Provincial Government has allocated a total budget of approximately Rp 249 billion for the school's rehabilitation. The construction will be funded by the Revised Regional Budget (APBD-P) and other creative financing options, such as the KLB.

"We will start the meeting again, the technical team will be appointed, who will supervise, and so on," added Pramono.

Pramono explained that according to the Education Agency's inventory data, 22 schools have been recommended for total rehabilitation. Initially, renovations for seven schools were allocated in the 2026-2027 Regional Budget.

However, because the condition of the other four school buildings is worrying, the Jakarta Provincial Government has accelerated construction on the four school buildings this year.

"Why is this happening? Because of cuts in DBH, efficiency, and so on. So, of the 22, only seven will be redeveloped soon," Pramono explained.

With the addition of these four schools, the total number of schools receiving direct assistance in 2026 will be 11. The remaining schools will be addressed in 2027.

Meanwhile, the construction work on SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 will begin with the administrative stage of writing off the old building assets in August 2026. The construction process is targeted to begin in September 2026 for 10 months.

In addition, the Jakarta Provincial Government will also form a monitoring and inventory team to check the condition of damaged school buildings to ensure that similar cases do not occur again.

As for information, the teaching and learning process for students at SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan has been relocated to SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11 since November 2024 to ensure it continues to run safely.
