PT MRT Jakarta is throwing its weight behind the myBCA JSD Blok M Festival 2026, set to take place between July 31 and August 2.

It’s a catalyst for cultural, creative, and economic vitality in the station's vicinity

This festival promises a multi-experience spectacle, ranging from live music to bustling markets. The attendee experience kicks off at the MRT Jakarta Central Hub within Blok M BCA Station, providing a seamless start before visitors dive into over 10 festival zones.

MRT Jakarta Business Development Director, Farchad Mahfud, Blok M is steadily cementing its status as a vibrant urban center, with the MRT being at the heart of the district's ongoing transformation.

"This partnership proves that transit is about more than just getting from point A to point B; it’s a catalyst for cultural, creative, and economic vitality in the station's vicinity," he remarked, Tuesday (7/27).

He noted that MRT Jakarta is committed to transforming Blok M into a more integrated and accessible public realm, keeping it in step with the city’s transit-oriented development.

"With the mix of business opportunities and cultural showcases—from visual arts to live performances—at the myBCA JSD Blok M Festival 2026, we are confident this supports Jakarta's ambition to rank among the top 50 in the Global City Index by 2030," he added.

He also highlighted that the Blok M Hub and its vicinity have flourished as a top urban tourism spot following its official launch by Governor Pramono Anung on May 25, 2025.

Farchad went on to say that Blok M's legacy as Jakarta’s trendsetting pop and subculture hub since the 1970s. He credits the arrival of MRT Jakarta and the strategic development of the Blok M-Sisingamangaraja corridor with breathing new life into an area that had previously faded from the spotlight.

"The impact is clear: Blok M BCA Station now records some of the highest ridership figures in the network. The district has reclaimed its popularity," he continued.

The area’s resurgence is guided by Gubernatorial Regulation No. 55/2020 on the Urban Design Guidelines for TOD zones in Blok M and Sisingamangaraja.

PT MRT Jakarta’s leadership is committed to transforming the Blok M–ASEAN corridor into a vibrant, inclusive, and livable urban heart. The vision combines high-density urban growth with a progressive approach to cultural heritage.
