Jakarta City Council Commission B Member, M. Taufik Zoelkifli (MTZ) says the Rp 15,000 fare for Transjakarta route connecting Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport as a fair price point.
I believe the Rp 15,000 fare remains very reasonable
He noted that the Transbandara service operates differently from regular Transjakarta lines, which are subsidized for daily city commuting. According to him, airport passengers have distinct travel needs and different economic capacities.
"The airport demographic is naturally different from regular city commuters. Hence, I believe the Rp 15,000 fare remains very reasonable," he expressed, Tuesday (8/4).
Still Rp 3,500! No Fare Change for Transjakarta’s Kalideres–Soetta RouteHighlighting the massive savings for commuters, he pointed out that while Damri costs Rp 90,000 and the Airport Train Rp 75,000, Transjakarta offers a far more affordable path to Soetta.
Beyond being easy on the wallet, the move is a strategic step to protect the city's financial health.
"This fare helps reduce Transjakarta's subsidy so it doesn't weigh too heavily on the city budget. For the time being, the Rp 15,000 rate is well within an acceptable range," he explained.
The Jakarta government has officially made the fare for the Blok M-Soetta Airport service via Governor's Decree No. 685/2026. Starting September 1, 2026, following a one-month public awareness period, passengers will be charged a flat rate by Rp 15,000.
Authorities clarified that this is the initial official pricing following a successful trial period, not a fare hike. To simplify the user experience, the "SH-2" route code has been retired.
Along with the official fare, PT Transjakarta has committed to upgrading the travel experience, featuring real-time information systems, improved facilities, and consistent bus frequency.
