20,000 Nila Fishes Spread into Two Reservoirs in South Jakarta

South Jakarta Sub-dept. of Maritime, Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) has done the fish restocking by spreading 20,000 Nile tilapia fish (locally known as nila) at Cavalio and Kampung Bintaro reservoirs, Pesanggrahan Urban Village, Friday (6/17).

Four months from now, the fishes are consumable

Kristrisasi Helenandari, head of agency, admitted restocking is aimed to increase the fish stock as natural protein source.

“Four months from now, the fishes are consumable. Growing nila fish is easy, its taste is also good,” she said.

City Prepares Fish Cultivation for Former Pasar Ikan Residents

According to him, the reservoir is handled by local farmers. She appeals the farmer to take benefit of the fish continually, not fully at the same time.

“Invite your family to consume nila fish,” she added.
