East Jakarta Launches Integrated TB Contact Tracing

On Tuesday afternoon (8/4), the East Jakarta City Administration launched an integrated tuberculosis (TB) contact tracing via free health checks (CKG) across 10 districts using a hybrid format.

Reduce the number of residents

The kick-off event was launched by the East Jakarta Assistant for Economy and Development, Fauzi, at RPTRA Cililitan, Kramat Jati.

Fauzi stated that this activity is a collaboration with urban village and district authorities, bringing together 100 residents.

"This is part of the Jakarta government's efforts to reduce the number of residents suspected of having TB. It is hoped that few residents will be suspected of having the disease," he stated.

In East Jakarta, the target covers 778 locations or 778,000 individuals who will be screened through a system integrated with CKG.

"No need to be afraid. In fact, by visiting CKG, they will discover their true health status," he added.

Head of East Jakarta Health Sub-agency, Arief Wahyudhy stated this TB tracing activity, integrated with CKG, is part of TB control efforts in East Jakarta, as patients exhibiting TB symptoms require early treatment.

"We are providing education and socialization to the attendees regarding TB and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), while simultaneously identifying their close contacts," he stated.

Through this activity, two objectives can be achieved simultaneously namely screening for tuberculosis and for other non-communicable diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, and others.
