21 Parking Locations Prepared for Indonesian Independence Day Celebrations

A series of events will be held to enliven the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's independence on Monday, August 17, 2026. These include the Flag Procession and Independence Ceremony, a public festival, a celebratory evening, and a float parade.

In addition to implementing traffic management measures and deploying 500 personnel, the Jakarta Transportation Agency has provided 21 parking locations in the area stretching from Monas to Dukuh Atas to accommodate the public's parking needs.

Budi added that Transjakarta bus services intersecting with the event locations will undergo operational pattern changes and route modifications on a situational basis, in accordance with traffic management and diversions implemented throughout the series of events.
In addition, a special fare of Rp 8 applies to Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta services from 12 AM to 11:59 PM on August 17, 2026.
Budi urges the public planning to attend the series of celebrations to prioritize the use of public transportation, including Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, and the Commuter Line.
"Please continue to pay attention to traffic management information and follow the instructions of the officers to ensure a safe and comfortable journey," he emphasized.
The Transportation Agency urges all road users, including long-distance train passengers boarding and/or alighting at Gambir Station, to adjust their travel times and routes.
"The public is advised to avoid road sections where traffic management is in effect unless necessary, and to comply with traffic signs and the directions of officers on the ground," he stated.
