Pramono Orders Immediate Action on Hazardous Road Conditions

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has addressed a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a student on Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati Central Market, East Jakarta.

Incidents like this must not happen again

"Regarding the incident at Kramat Jati Market, I have been following the case; the conditions were indeed caused by slippery roads, where (the victim) slipped and was then struck by an Environmental Agency vehicle," he expressed, Tuesday (8/18).

Following up on the incident, Pramono has instructed the Mayor of East Jakarta and Satpol PP to ensure that road conditions posing a potential risk to road users are immediately addressed.

He emphasized that wet and slippery road conditions must not be ignored, as they can trigger accidents and jeopardize public safety.

"Incidents like this must not happen again. Allowing wet areas to persist, leading to someone slipping and being struck by a vehicle, is unacceptable. Hopefully, this won't recur," he remarked.
