Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT Fare Set at Rp 8 During Trial Run

The Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing for an operational trial of the Jakarta LRT's Kelapa Gading–Manggarai route for the public.

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said that the public will be charged a special fare of Rp 8 during the trial period. This trial is being conducted to introduce the new Jakarta LRT route to the public before official operations commence.

"I have requested that a trial run be conducted. I am asking for a specific timeframe for this trial, and the fare is set at Rp 8," said Pramono, Thursday (8/27).

Currently, Governor Pramono is preparing the legal framework for the trial run through a Governor's Regulation. He stated that he would soon sign the regulation so that the public can enjoy convenient transport access to Manggarai Station.

"I will issue and sign the Governor's Regulation soon, because a regulation is required to determine, the regulation that sets the Rp 8 figure," he added.

The Jakarta LRT is expected to transform the face of transportation in the city. This mode of transport, which traverses several densely populated areas, such as Kelapa Gading, Velodrome, Pramuka, and Manggarai, is hoped to help alleviate traffic congestion.

In addition to preparing the Jakarta LRT infrastructure, Pramono also instructed his staff to carry out improvements along the LRT line and implement greening measures.

Pramono assured that the Jakarta Provincial Government would properly prepare for LRT operations to ensure comfort and ease of mobility for the public.
