JIF Summit 2026 Drives Global Partnerships and Investment Growth in Jakarta

The Jakarta Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP) inaugurated the Jakarta Investment Festival (JIF) Summit 2026 at the Grand Ballroom, Shangri-La Jakarta, Thursday (8/27).

JIF Summit 2026 is an essential space for synergy

Running from August 27–28, the summit serves as a premier gathering for government officials, investors, business leaders, academics, financial institutions, and development partners to explore strategic opportunities and the future trajectory of investment in Jakarta.

According to Heru Hermawanto, Head of Jakarta DPMPTSP, JIF Summit 2026 reflects the capital’s dedication to bolstering sectoral synergy while expanding the investment landscape.

“More than just a platform for introducing opportunities, JIF Summit 2026 is an essential space for synergy. It brings together government officials, global investors, business players, and development partners to collectively build a resilient Jakarta,” he explained, Friday (8/28).

According to him, investments in Jakarta must deliver a broad social impact. The focus extends beyond mere monetary value, aiming to generate employment, fortify the economy, drive innovation, and boost the city’s global competitiveness.

"We want investments that aren't just significant in scale but are also of high quality and offer tangible benefits to the community," he continued.

He went on to say that one of the strategic issues addressed at the JIF Summit 2026 is the transformation of Jakarta's coastal areas, a project that demands a cross-sectoral approach and robust investment support.

"Developing Jakarta as a global city requires deep-seated collaboration between the government, the private sector, financial institutions, academia, and international partners," explained.

This agenda is strategically designed as a matchmaking space, connecting key stakeholders directly with Jakarta’s prime investment prospects.

By integrating high-level discussions, project pitches, and business matchmaking, JIF Summit catalyzes the networks and cross-sector synergies necessary for sustainable development.

The vision for JIF Summit is to move beyond dialogue toward actionable business communication, deal-sourcing, and full-scale investment realization.

"The synergies formed here are anticipated to drive significant results for the economy, fostering job opportunities, spurring innovation, and sharpening Jakarta’s competitive edge," he continued.

Jakarta Investment Centre (JIC) Management Unit Head, Ezrin Kartika detailed that the summit’s inaugural day operated concurrently across four thematic stages: the Main Stage and three specialized pavilions—Future Proof City, Minds to Market, and Capital that Connects.

"JIF Summit is meticulously curated as a results-driven platform to match capital with high-impact prospects. Our goal was to move beyond dialogue by showcasing tangible, actionable projects that investors can pursue immediately," he added.

Kicking off on the Main Stage was a high-level plenary titled 'The Road Ahead for Jakarta's Coastal Transformation,' bringing together cross-agency specialists. A centerpiece of the summit was the unveiling of strategic project pipelines from Jakarta BUMDs, including wastewater treatment, smart logistics, urban transit, and tourism-lifestyle ventures.

"These BUMD project presentations are a vital component of the JIF Summit, as they allow investors to witness firsthand the diverse opportunities currently being developed in Jakarta—from infrastructure and utilities to transportation and lifestyle industries," she noted

The JIF Summit also featured a Startup Pitching Session, held in collaboration with the Pijar Foundation and the UK Indonesia Tech Hub, as well as an Investalk session with PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (IIGF) and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

Additionally, the event hosted a Fireside Chat titled ‘Women in Leadership: Perspectives for Jakarta's Future,’ a collaborative effort with the British Embassy, BritCham Indonesia, and the Pijar Foundation, featuring a keynote speech by Trade Vice Minister, Dyah Roro Esti.

The summit’s diverse itinerary further delved into research-based investment with LPEM FEB UI, capital fundraising strategies with SBM ITB, and academic insights from Prasetiya Mulya University. Bank Indonesia also led a crucial session on Local Currency Transactions (LCT), complemented by industry dialogues with CIMB Niaga and an exploration of Jakarta’s film infrastructure with the Jakarta Film Commission.

According to Ezrin, integrating perspectives from academia, finance, and international allies is a cornerstone of expanding Jakarta’s investment ecosystem.

"Our goal is for JIF Summit to serve as a catalyst for productive engagement. It is a platform where talk turns into action, allowing stakeholders to build direct rapport and scout for cooperation opportunities on the spot," he explained.

The summit continues today with a high-profile Opening Ceremony, scheduled to be attended by the Investment and Downstreaming Minister/BKPM Head, Rosan P. Roeslani, Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung Wibowo, and Jakarta DPMPTSP Head Heru Hermawanto.

The program will proceed with a flagship Plenary Discussion titled ‘Advancing Today, Securing Tomorrow,’ followed by exclusive roundtable sessions, strategic project presentations from Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), and concluding with a Networking Reception & MoU Signing.
