North Jakarta Job Fair Walk-in Interviews Attract Over 3,000 Job Seekers

The North Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-agency held simultaneous walk-in interviews at six district offices. This event, which involved a number of companies, served as the concluding activity of the North Jakarta Job Fair, following the fair's earlier run, conducted both online and offline, from August 19 to 28, 2026.

Direct recruitment process

Head of the Training, Placement, Productivity, and Transmigration Section at the North Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-agency, Muhamad Yasil Farabi stated that public enthusiasm for the job fair is quite high. This is evident from the number of job seekers, which has surpassed 3,000 since registration opened.

"We are holding this walk-in interview specifically to demonstrate and dispel the notion that job fairs are merely a formality. Here, there is a genuine, direct recruitment process conducted by the companies," he said, Monday (8/31).

Yasil explained that individuals who did not register for the previous event can still participate in the walk-in interview. Applicants simply need to register via the Karier Kerja app and bring their application documents such as a curriculum vitae to attend the in-person interview.

Yasil detailed that the activity was held at six locations namely Koja, Kelapa Gading, Tanjung Priok, Cilincing, Pademangan, and Penjaringan Districts.

"We also hope the company can secure a workforce that meets its needs," he hoped.

Head Section of Economy and Development of Kelapa Gading District, Jose Rizal Silalahi admitted job fairs at the district level greatly assist in meeting residents' needs for employment opportunities.

"We hope that activities like this can be held regularly, perhaps every two or three months," he requested.

Meanwhile, a job seeker named Sahrul Rijal Muttaqin (24), a bachelor's degree holder with experience in the food and beverage industry, hopes to take on a new challenge as a supervisor.

"The walk-in interview format is highly efficient because documents are checked immediately and interviews can take place on the spot. It feels more personal and offers greater opportunities compared to conventional application methods," he admitted.
