JIA 2026: Jakarta to Honor Innovative and High-Impact Businesses

The evaluation for the 2026 Jakarta Investment Award (JIA) has entered its final stage. The process involves relevant institutions and several provincial government agencies under the Jakarta government.

The JIA is more than just finding who has the largest investment

Key organizations participating in the evaluation include the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO), and the Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).

Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (PMPTSP)'s Investment Head, Budya Pryanto Putra stated that the 2026 JIA Final Assessment FGD brought together government officials, business leaders, and stakeholders. The goal was to evaluate how candidates contribute to Jakarta’s development.

He explained that this forum is a key step in the assessment process before winners are finalized. Budya emphasized that the JIA does not only look at investment figures, but also considers the broader impact businesses have on the city.

“The JIA is more than just finding who has the largest investment. We want to recognize businesses that provide real value to Jakarta—whether through job creation, economic growth, innovation, or urban development,” he expressed, Wednesday (9/2).

During the FGD, the JIA Expert Panel presented the finalists. These presentations were then discussed by participants to gain cross-sector perspectives on each nominee’s contributions.

According to him, involving various parties is key to maintaining objectivity. This ensures that the winners represent high-quality investments that provide real added value to Jakarta.

“We want the evaluation to be comprehensive and accountable. Feedback from the government, the business community, and relevant organizations is essential to see the bigger picture—not just investment figures, but the real impact on the public and Jakarta’s economy,” he explained.

He added that the evaluation covers various areas, including investment, job creation, economic growth, innovation, and sustainability.

"Hope this approach encourages businesses to bring in high-quality investments that offer broader benefits and support Jakarta’s development," he concluded.

Notably, JIA is the Jakarta government’s way of honoring businesses that help build a conducive, innovative, and sustainable investment ecosystem.

The award also aims to boost investor confidence and strengthen Jakarta's competitiveness as a global city.

The results of this final FGD will serve as the basis for selecting the winners. The JIA ceremony will take place on September 14, 2026, attended by Jakarta Governor, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, as well as government officials, business leaders, and associations.
