Food Aid Distributed to 1,593 Families in Manggarai Selatan

A total of 1,593 beneficiary families in Manggarai Selatan Urban Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta, received food assistance. Each family received 30 kilograms of rice.

Head of Manggarai Urban Village, Sri Nurwiyanti said the rice aid is allocated for three months at once, namely July, August and September.

Aid distribution took place over two days and was given to beneficiaries from 10 neighborhood units (RW). On the final day of distribution, 430 recipients received the aid.

"For the last day, it was recorded that there were 430 recipients who took aid," she said, Friday (9/4).

Sri explained that distribution on the final day was prioritized for recipients who were unable to attend the previous schedule and residents who were included as substitutes based on the results of the data update.

"After being inventoried, there are names of individuals who are no longer eligible to receive assistance because their decile has moved up. Therefore, this assistance is given to replacements for those who are no longer eligible," she explained.

Sri added that residents inquired about changes in recipient status due to increased welfare levels or deciles were provided with explanations based on available data. The recipients of aid are those in deciles 1 to 4.

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, Rusidah admitted the rice aid really helped meet her family's basic needs.

"It is very helpful for the less fortunate or those in need. Hopefully, this program will continue in the future and will not be interrupted," she hoped.
