In order to anticipate the impact of exposure to volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau, the West Jakarta City Government sprayed water on Jalan S Parman, Daan Mogot and Jalan Tomang Raya, Sunday (9/6).

Head of West Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency, Suheri explained this spraying activity is to reduce the impact of the spread of volcanic dust due to the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

He added that spraying activities began at around 4 PM and were completed before Maghrib.
On the Jalan S Parman section, starting from the Trisakti traffic light to the Palmerah traffic light, spraying was carried out by personnel from the West Jakarta Parks and Forestry Sub-agency.
Head of West Jakarta Parks and Forestry Sub-agency, Dirja Kusuma stated his rank deployed six water trucks.
The sub-agency also sprayed water on Jalan Daan Mogot starting from Ciputra traffic light up to the U-turn under the Pesing Flyover.
"We hope that this spraying effort can minimize the impact of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau in the Jakarta area, especially West Jakarta," he hoped.
