The Jakarta Provincial Government continues to strengthen Jakarta's position as a global city open to international trade, investment, and collaboration.
We are open to building stronger partnerships with international businesses and investors
Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Agency Head Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo made the statement during a presentation at the Choose Jakarta 2026 exhibition at the 21st China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) in Guangzhou, China.
JIA 2026: Jakarta to Honor Innovative and High-Impact BusinessesIn her presentation, titled "Jakarta & China: The Strategic Gateway," Ratu introduced Jakarta's various potential opportunities to visitors, businesspeople, investors, and international partners attending the exhibition.
The presentation was part of Jakarta's promotional and business networking activities as part of its participation in Choose Jakarta 2026 at CISMEF.
Ratu said Jakarta is transforming into a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable global city, with a strategic position as a center for business, finance, trade, and investment in Indonesia.
She explained that Jakarta accounted for 17.2 percent of national investment realization, with a value of Rp173.6 trillion in the first half of 2026. Meanwhile, Jakarta's economy grew 5.52 percent year on year in the second quarter of 2026.
"Jakarta continues to grow as a major global center for business, finance, and investment. We are open to building stronger partnerships with international businesses and investors, including those from China," she said on Monday (9/7).
In addition to highlighting Jakarta's economic strengths, Ratu outlined several investment opportunities and city-owned assets that could be developed in partnership with strategic partners.
One of the opportunities presented was the development of the former Garment Industry Center in Kebon Jeruk, covering 1,350 square meters, into a Smart Manufacturing & Creative Fashion Lab.
Ratu said the concept is intended to integrate smart manufacturing technology, automated micro-factories, design spaces, co-working and co-living spaces, while creating opportunities for collaboration between local designers and Jakarta MSMEs.
"Jakarta offers more than just a market. It also provides opportunities for international partners to grow together through investment, technology, and collaboration with local businesses," she added.
On the occasion, Ratu also introduced the potential of several strategic Jakarta assets, including Taman Kota Intan in the Kota Tua area, Kembang Kencana Land, Cattleya City Park, Bidadari Island, Cilangkap Agrotourism Park, Graha Pejaten, Lapangan Banteng, Ismail Marzuki Village, and the Jakarta International Cultural Hub.
These assets have potential for development in trade, tourism, the creative economy, lifestyle, sports, hospitality, as well as business and cultural centers.
The presentation also reinforced the main message of Jakarta's participation in Choose Jakarta 2026, namely to open wider access for Jakarta products, businesses, and potential opportunities to international markets.
The Jakarta Provincial Government brought 22 curated SMEs to CISMEF 2026, showcasing products across various categories, including fashion, jewelry, crafts, spices, food and beverages, and wellness.
Jakarta's presence at CISMEF has also become more strategic as the 21st CISMEF was held from September 3-6, 2026, in Guangzhou, with Indonesia serving as the Co-Host Country.
This year's CISMEF was also part of a series of events surrounding the APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting, which brought together stakeholders in economic and SME development from across the Asia-Pacific region.
She added that the event provided an important platform for Jakarta to showcase its potential while building connections with international business networks.
"This is in line with the APEC agenda, which this year also highlights innovation, the use of digital technology, improving competitiveness, and expanding market access for small and medium enterprises," she noted.
Jakarta's participation in CISMEF 2026 was also made possible through collaboration with the Asian Trade, Tourism, and Economics Council (ATTEC), which plays a role in strengthening business networks and international relations.
ATTEC has served as a platform for promoting collaboration among businesses and strengthening Indonesia's access to trade and investment opportunities in Asian markets.
Ratu pointed that collaboration among the government, businesses, business associations, and international networks is key to creating more concrete economic opportunities for Jakarta.
"Through forums such as CISMEF, we want to build connections that go beyond promotion and can develop into business matching, investment, trade cooperation, and long-term partnerships that benefit Jakarta and its partners," she said.
