Volcanic Ash Mitigation: Three Main Roads in West Jakarta Sprayed with Water

"One fire engine unit refills several times to increase the volume of water to be sprayed," Monday (9/7).

This activity is expected to reduce the impact of volcanic ash which is prone to harming public health.

Head of the Kota Tua Technical Implementation Unit (UPK), Denny Aputra expressed a similar hope. He hopes this mitigation effort will minimize the impact of volcanic ash, ensuring visitors remain comfortable and safe while visiting the Kota Tua area.

"We remain open as usual. However, we recommend that visitors wear masks and goggles for their comfort and safety," he stated.

He added that his party also distributed free masks to visitors and the public visiting Kota Tua.

"We distributed 1,000 masks for free yesterday. Today, we've prepared 500 masks to be distributed to the public and visiting tourists," he said.
