Improvements Along Sentiong Riverbank Resume

The Paseban Urban Village in Senen, Central Jakarta, has resumed improvements along the Sentiong Riverbank on Jalan Kramat Lontar XIV Buntu RW 01.

Part of the land along the Sentiong Riverbank is being transformed into a green park

The area was previously improved in 2023 with the construction of an interactive park, community hall, and sports facilities. However, the work was halted for several years without explanation.

Paseban Urban Village Head Citra Arum Purdiarini said the improvements, which had been halted for several years, have now resumed.

"Part of the land along the Sentiong Riverbank is being transformed into a green park, with fencing installed around the area," she said on Thursday (9/10).

Citra also noted that the Central Jakarta Environment Sub-agency has been renovating the temporary waste collection site (TPS) along the riverbank since last week.

"The park is targeted for completion in about a month, while the renovation of the temporary waste collection site will take 60 working days. Once the work is complete, we will invite residents to help take care of the area," she explained.

RW 01 Paseban Head Junaedi said the park was proposed directly by residents as part of efforts to continue improving the area along Sentiong Riverbank.

"The RW 01 Paseban community meeting proposed further improvements along Sentiong Riverbank," he added.

According to him, improvements along Sentiong Riverbank will transform the previously rundown residential area into a greener and more pleasant environment

"We thank the Central Jakarta Administration for responding to residents' aspirations," he said.
