Pramono Urges Jakmania to Keep Jakarta Safe

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung led the 'Jaga Jakarta' assembly with Jakmania, Persija supporters, at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Central Jakarta on Friday (9/11) afternoon.

Jakarta is a shared home for everyone

The assembly was held as a precautionary measure and part of preparations ahead of a highly anticipated second-week clash in the 2026/2027 BRI Liga Super between Persija Jakarta and Persib Bandung on Saturday (9/12).

In his address, Pramono urged Jakmania to help ensure the match is played in a sporting, safe, and comfortable manner.

The Persija Jakarta-Persib Bandung match is highly anticipated as it will be the first time the fixture has been held in Jakarta in seven years. Pramono therefore called on Jakmania to show that Jakarta can be a good host.

"Let's show Jakarta, let's show Indonesia, that The Jakmania, Persija, and Jakarta residents are good hosts to everyone who comes to Jakarta," he said.

He stressed that Jakarta is a shared home for everyone. He therefore called on all members of the community, especially Jakmania, to protect and maintain public facilities during and after the match.

"Remember, Jakarta is our shared home. Let's take care of the public facilities together. Once again, I hope that when the match is over, we will maintain cleanliness, order, and peace," he emphasized.

Pramono expressed hope that the match would run smoothly and Persija would secure a win. However, he reminded Jakmania to accept whatever the final result may be.

He also called on supporters not to let the rivalry between Persija Jakarta and Persib Bandung spill over onto social media. This would help ensure a conducive atmosphere throughout the match.

Pramono also urged all supporters to prioritize togetherness and brotherhood after the match.

"By maintaining togetherness, sportsmanship, and the rivalry between Persija and Persib Bandung as a football rivalry, I specifically ask that it not be carried over to other places, including social media," he noted.

Pramono also urged Persija players to compete with enthusiasm and optimism while upholding sportsmanship.

"Hopefully tomorrow's match will run smoothly, be full of sportsmanship, and Persija will secure a win," Pramono said.

The Governor also praised the Jakarta Metropolitan Police for helping ensure the highly anticipated match runs smoothly.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief Insp. Gen. Dekananto Eko Purwono said the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Jaya Military Command, and Jakarta Provincial Government would deploy 17,800 personnel to secure the match and coordinate with the West Java and Banten Regional Police to conduct screening operations as a precaution.

"We are confident in the commitment made by our Jakmania friends. They have pledged to maintain order throughout the match, both before and during the game and after it ends," he asserted.

Persib Bandung supporters will not be allowed to attend the match in person at the GBK, in accordance with FIFA regulations and police recommendations.
