Transjakarta Distributes Fire Extinguishers to Residents

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) donated 30 portable fire extinguishers to residents near the Cawang Depot and Transjakarta Headquarters. They also received training and participated in a simulation on how to use portable fire extinguishers.

Part of our collective effort

This training and assistance distribution is a step to mitigate the danger of fires during the dry season.

Transjakarta's Director of Operations and Safety, Mohamad Deddy Gamawan, said that Transjakarta remains committed to building preparedness and a culture of safety, not only within its operational environment but also for the surrounding community.

"We appreciate all residents who have participated in the training. This activity is part of our collective effort to build a culture of safety, preparedness, and concern for the surrounding environment," he said, Sunday (9/13).

According to him, fire extinguishers must be readily available and ready for use. Through training and simulations, the acquired fire prevention knowledge and skills can be disseminated more widely within families and neighborhoods.

"Let's start with simple things by not ignoring potential dangers, ensuring that electrical installations and equipment that could potentially cause fires are in a safe condition, and immediately reporting if you find a risky condition," he added.

In addition to emphasizing the importance of disaster mitigation, Transjakarta also used this moment to strengthen synergy and open communication with residents of residential areas around its operational area.

He realized that Transjakarta operational activities around the Cawang Depot and Head Office have quite high mobility and under certain conditions may cause inconvenience to the surrounding community.

"Therefore, I urge all residents to continue building good communication and collaboration with Transjakarta. Safety is our shared responsibility," he stated.

As a real manifestation of concern and contribution to residents around the Cawang Depot and Transjakarta Head Office, the assistance of 30 portable fire extinguishers units was distributed proportionally to several residential areas, including:

• RW 05: RT 04, RT 05, RT 06, RT 11, and RT 12

• RW 06: RT 05 and RT 07

• RW 07: RT 01, RT 02, RT 03, RT 08, and RT 10

• RW 08: RT 06, RT 07, and RT 14

“Transjakarta hopes that the community's resilience and preparedness in anticipating potential fire risks can be increased through this training activity and the distribution of portable fire extinguishers assistance, especially during the dry season," he emphasized.
