Traffic Engineering Implemented Under Pesing Flyover to Ease Congestion

A total of 30 joint personnel from the West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency and Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), along with police officers, have implemented traffic engineering by installing Moveable Concrete Barriers (MCBs) under the Pesing Flyover on Jalan Daan Mogot, Wijaya Kusuma Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan.

Although there is a traffic light, vehicles often build up at the intersection

West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Transportation Section Head Kurniawan Yusuf explained that traffic engineering was carried out to ease congestion at the intersection connecting Jalan Tubagus Angke, Kedoya Pesing, and Jalan Daan Mogot toward Kalideres and Grogol.

"Although there is a traffic light, vehicles often build up at the intersection, triggering congestion in the surrounding area," he said on Monday (9/14).

With MCBs in place, he added, vehicles traveling from Kalideres toward Grogol will first be diverted onto Jalan Tubagus Angke and make a U-turn at the nearest turning point before returning to Jalan Daan Mogot.

"The traffic engineering also applies to Transjakarta buses," he noted.

Kurniawan hopes the traffic engineering will help direct vehicle movements in a more orderly manner while improving safety and traffic flow around the area.

Kurniawan also said the MCBs were installed partly to curb illegal parking activities under the Pesing Flyover, which motorists have frequently complained about because they worsen congestion in the area.

"We urge road users to pay attention to traffic signs and follow officers' directions on the ground. Please remain orderly, prioritize safety, and always follow traffic regulations," he emphasized.
