Project of LRT, Velodrome and Equestrian Begins

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama inaugurated the project of Light Rail Transit (LRT) Jakarta, Velodorome and Equestrian at Jakarta KNPI building, Jl Balap Sepeda, Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Wednesday (6/22).

We want the city has international standard in all aspects

According to Basuki, the project is a supporting infrastructure when the city as a host of 2018 Asian Games. Moreover, LRT is one of the city government programs in parsing traffic jam.

"We want the city has international standard in all aspects," he expressed.

LRT Will Use Standard Rail

On the other hand, Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo, Satya Heragandhi disclosed, for Asian Games preparation, his party develops the LRT, Rawamangun Velodrome and renovates Equestrian.

Three projects are from City Budget (APBD). As the initial LRT construction, the fund is spending Rp 4.5 trillion. This is for priority route that will be built in Kelapa Gading-Veledrome-Rawamangun. Then Velodrome, will spend USD 40 million.

"The experienced contractor, ES Global is involved in this project. We will have a prettiest Velodrome in Asean and its construction will be monitored by Union Cycliste Internasionale (UCI)," he finished.
