Seribu Islands KPKP Sub-agency Assists with Production Facilities on Kelapa Island

The Seribu Islands Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency distributed agricultural production facilities (Saprodi) assistance to Women Farmers Groups (KWT), managers of Child-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA), and urban farming activists in Kelapa Island Urban Village, Seribu Utara Islands District.
Increasing farming activities
Head of the Sub-agency, Helena Simarmata, said that aid was distributed in stages according to the needs of the groups and the locations where urban farming was developed.

"This program is to optimize land while increasing farming activities and food availability in the local community," she said, Thursday (9/24).
Helena explained that the aid distributed included paranet, two sets of pump machines, two packages of Alika pesticide, 10 sacks of fertilizer, two sprayers or misters, and 20 plant pots.
Then, 50 chili seedlings, three bok choy seedlings, two mustard green seedlings, two spinach seedlings, two lettuce seedlings, and chili seedlings were provided. To support hydroponic cultivation, 100 net pots, four sheets of flannel, four sheets of rockwool, seven pairs of AB Mix, and several planting medium materials were also provided.
"This assistance is part of an effort to expand urban farming in the Seribu Islands. Residents can also apply for assistance based on their needs," she added.
Meanwhile, the Head of KWT Hijau Daun on Kelapa Dua Island, Rosada, appreciated the assistance provided by the Seribu Islands KPKP Sub-agency.
He said that this support can maintain the sustainability of urban farming activities while increasing crop yields to meet the food needs of families and the surrounding environment.
"This assistance really helps us develop vegetable crops and encourages KWT members to be more active in farming," he admitted.
