East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin led the harvest of Golden melons grown on idle land in the former yard of SMK Santa Lucia on Jalan Rawamangun Muka Selatan, Rawamangun Urban Village, Pulo Gadung Sub-district.

He hoped that the utilization of idle land like the one in Rawamangun could encourage other residents to do the same.

Munjirin urged residents to actively promote urban farming to strengthen food security.
After the harvest, he and staffs visited SDN Rawamangun 07 Pagi behind the urban farming site.
During the visit, they educated students on healthy lifestyle habits and the importance of eating fruit to stay fit.
Aside that, Rawamangun Urban Village Head Yola Dwiyenti explained that PPSU personnel planted the Golden melons three months ago with the urban village PKK Team.
The 150-square-meter plot was used for urban farming, growing Golden melons, glutinous corn, water spinach, chili peppers, and other vegetables.
"The inaugural harvest yielded 100 Golden melons weighing 150-200 kilograms. Thank God, the results are very satisfying," she admitted.
Yola added that the harvested melons were sold to residents for Rp 25,000 per kilogram and sold out instantly due to high enthusiasm.
"The sales revenue will fund the operations of the 13-member farming group, including buying seeds, fertilizer, and farming supplies," she stated.
