Legislative Council Commission A Member Manuara Siahaan urged the expansion of Car Free Day (CFD) to other regions across Jakarta.

Speaking after the 24th CFD anniversary at Bundaran HI on Sunday (9/27), he noted that CFD events should not be limited to the Sudirman-Thamrin area.
He suggested evaluating areas like Blok M, Kota Tua, Gatot Subroto, and Slipi for future CFD locations to benefit more residents.

He noted that CFD reduces emissions, promotes healthy living, fosters social interaction, supports MSMEs, and hosts public services like civil administration and free health checks.
While open to holding CFD twice a week, including Saturdays, he stressed that any expansion of days and locations must rely on thorough studies of weekend activities.
"Principally, we agree, but any expansion of road segments and locations must be grounded in academic studies," he explained.
Manuara also urged leveraging technology and vegetation to help absorb carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
He stressed that emission control must be comprehensive and go beyond just holding Car Free Day.
"We can achieve this naturally through both technology and biological solutions like carbon-absorbing plants," he stated.
