Jakarta Govt Offers Free Public Transport for JRF 2026 Runners

The Jakarta Provincial Government is providing full support for the Jakarta Running Festival (JRF) 2026, which will take place from October 22 to 25, 2026.

The free fares only apply to participants wearing their BIB and jersey

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the Jakarta Provincial Government will provide free public transport to all JRF participants who wear their BIB and marathon jersey. The free service applies to MRT, Transjakarta, Transjabodetabek, and LRT Jakarta.

"The free fares only apply to participants wearing their BIB and jersey. The same policy will apply on both the first and second days. It applies to all public transport services operated by the Jakarta Government, with fares set at Rp0," Pramono said at City Hall on Wednesday (9/30).

The service is being provided in anticipation of increased people's mobility and as part of the city's support for the sport tourism event.

Besides providing free public transport, the Jakarta Provincial Government will manage traffic to minimize disruption to residents, provide health services, and offer other support.

"We are providing full support, from preparing the venues and roads used for the race to providing health services and other forms of support," he emphasized.

He assured that the Jakarta Provincial Government would deploy its personnel, including those from the Transportation Agency, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Kominfotik) Agency, to fully support the event.

The event is also expected to increase hotel occupancy along the race routes and boost economic activity in the area.

Meanwhile, KLAB President Director Dickie Widjaja expressed his appreciation for the Jakarta Provincial Government's support for JRF 2026.

"On behalf of KLAB, I would like to thank the Jakarta Provincial Government and all the agencies involved. Their support and cooperation helped JRF 2025 run smoothly last year," he said.

He added that the organizers continue to improve the annual marathon event. This year, JRF became the first event in Indonesia to receive Gold Label status for both its half and full marathons.

JRF 2026 will also feature 130 brands, including 48 local MSMEs, and culinary businesses at the race expo at Istora Senayan.
