The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency is actively streamlining aerial cables on Jalan Kuningan Barat Raya, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta. Observations at the scene show utility poles burdened with heaps of tangled wires, with subterranean cables still exposed above ground in several locations.

Jakarta Infrastructure and Utility Facilities Head Imam Adi Nugraha explained that numerous overhead cables in the Cyber Building area are linked to its telecommunications data center.
“Jalan Kuningan Barat houses the Cyber Building and the telecommunications data center, which explains the high concentration of overhead cables there," he expressed, Thursday (10/1).
Jakarta Clears 1,161-Meter Stretch of Aerial Cables in MentengHe explained that overhead cables are being moved underground, with the Jakarta government targeting October 2026 to cut down the remaining aerial lines on Jalan Kuningan Barat.
“We are currently migrating the cables underground and aim to disconnect the overhead lines there by October," he explained.
Residents had previously sounded the alarm over the unsightly tangle of wires choking Jalan Kuningan Barat Raya. The sprawl reportedly spans from the Gedung Cyber area across adjacent crossroads.
Several cables connecting utility poles hang precariously low—a glaring concern in an area that serves as a vital artery for high-density telecommunications networks.
“We call on the public to bear with us; please grant us this one-month window to bring order to the infrastructure. We'll conduct a full-scale clean-up along Jalan Kuningan Barat this October,” he stressed.
