Meruya Selatan TPS3R Designated as a Pilot Project

The West Jakarta City Administration Government has launched the Meruya Selatan Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Waste Processing Facility (TPS3R) as a pilot project.

The Meruya Selatan TPS3R is targeted to be able to reduce the volume of waste dumped at the Bantar Gebang TPST by up to 70 percent.

As an initial stage, the Meruya Selatan TPS3R was first designated as a pilot project for waste management in residential areas, office buildings, campuses and others.
"TPS3R plays an important role in reducing the volume of waste dumped into Bantar Gebang," she said, Friday (10/2).
Iin explained that of the 2,220 tons of waste dumped at the Bantar Gebang TPST, or around 220 truck trips, this has now been reduced to just 110 trips.
Head of West Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency, Aldi Jansen, explained the Meruya Selatan TPS3R is targeted to be able to process and reduce waste by up to 70 percent by next November.
Before being designated as a pilot project, the Meruya Selatan TPS3R produced and disposed of up to 50 tons of waste at the Bantar Gebang TPST.
"Once the pilot project is underway, we will conduct regular monitoring and evaluation, both regarding the effectiveness of the residue being handled and the processing at the TPS3R," he explained.
