Stilling Basin on Jalan Gading Nirwana Targeted for May CompletionAccording to him, the construction of the two stilling ponds is a follow-up to the aspirations of residents who want the management of flooding in the area to be optimized.
"This location is quite concave and prone to flooding. We built two stilling ponds to temporarily store water during rainy seasons," he said, Monday (10/5).
Supiyan explained that each stilling pond is four meters long, two meters wide, and three meters deep.
"Construction began in early September 2026, involving seven Blue Troop personnel," he added.
According to him, after construction is complete, a portable pump will be put on standby to channel the water collected in the two ponds to the Kali Cakung Lama channel.
Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Dadang (45) appreciated the construction of the two stilling ponds because this facility is really needed to reduce the risk of flooding, especially during the rainy season.
"Hopefully the construction can be completed soon so that the benefits can be felt by the community," he hoped.
