Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced an improvement in the city's public transit ranking in the 2026 Time Out survey, with Jakarta placing 15th globally, up from 17th.
Time Out surveyed 24,000 residents worldwide across different locations
"Time Out surveyed 24,000 residents worldwide across different locations. Jakarta moved up from 17th last year to 15th best in the world today," Pram expressed in Cipayung, East Jakarta, Monday (10/19).
He attributed the higher ranking to better integration between transport modes, such as the MRT, LRT, Transjakarta, Transjabodetabek, and Mikrotrans routes.
Pramono Praises Transportation Agency's Public Service ImprovementsOut of around 24,000 surveyed residents, 79.2 percent rated Jakarta's public transit positively. In ASEAN, Jakarta sits in second place behind Singapore, and holds the 7th spot in Asia.
"As integration continues to improve, we hope Jakarta's transit system will become even better," he explained.
Consequently, he pledged to extend transit connectivity in Jakarta and neighboring buffer zones, stating that this move could significantly reduce the city's traffic jams.
"I will continue to link remaining unconnected points within Jakarta, especially regarding Transjabodetabek," Pramono asserted.
