North Jakarta Offers 16 Free Job Training Classes Through Creative Financing

The North Jakarta Regional Job Training Center (PPKD) has launched a collaborative training program called Creative Financing at the MCC–Jakarta LRT Depot Building on Jalan Raya Kelapa Nias, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-district.

Acquire skills that meet industry needs

The program is an innovative approach to expanding access to free job training through partnerships with city-owned enterprises (BUMDs) and nonprofit organizations. In addition to equipping participants with technical skills, it provides competency certification and opens up job placement opportunities for graduates.

Jakarta City-Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BP BUMD) Head Syaefuloh Hidayat commended the Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Nakertransgi) Agency, BUMD partners, and nonprofit organizations for supporting the program.

He said the collaborative funding scheme was a strategic step toward improving public access to job training that meets industry needs.

"The training is free and gives residents an opportunity to improve their skills. Make the most of this opportunity and take it seriously as a way to improve your standard of living and competitiveness," he explained on Thursday (10/22).

Syaefuloh added that the Creative Financing program aims to open 16 classes with a total capacity of 320 participants throughout 2026.

"The program is also planned to continue through 2027," he said.

Jakarta Nakertransgi Agency Head Syaripudin highlighted that the program not only provides skills training and competency assessments but also offers job placement opportunities for graduates who obtain professional certifications.

"We hope all participants will pass their competency assessments and acquire skills that meet industry needs, giving them better opportunities to find work," he said.

North Jakarta Regional Job Training Center (PPKD) Head Rusli Abidin said Creative Financing was an innovative job training funding scheme built on partnerships with BUMDs and nonprofit organizations.

"Under this scheme, training programs do not have to rely entirely on the City Budget (APBD)," he noted.

Rusli added that 140 participants had enrolled in the training offered as part of the program's launch. The participants were divided into four training fields: Industrial Electrical Engineering, English, Hospitality, and Data Management Staff.

"Several partners are involved in delivering the training. PT LRT Jakarta supports the Industrial Electrical Engineering course, PT PAL Jaya supports the English course, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol supports Hospitality, and the Gugah Nurani Indonesia Foundation (GNI) supports Data Management Staff," he explained.

He said the training takes place at the North Jakarta Regional Job Training Center and comprises 360 instructional hours, equivalent to around 40 days of intensive training. Participants then undergo a two-day competency assessment to obtain certification in accordance with applicable standards.

"Graduates will have opportunities to work at business units owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government's BUMDs or through GNI Foundation's industry partner network, depending on their competencies and workforce needs," he added.

Meanwhile, Thoriq, 25, a participant in the Industrial Electrical Engineering course, said this was his first time taking part in training at the North Jakarta Regional Job Training Center.

"I want to expand my knowledge and skills in electrical engineering because there are quite a few job opportunities in the field. I hope this training will make it easier for me to find a job," he said.
