Jakarta Records Improved Air Quality on First Day of JRF 2026

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung expressed his appreciation for the quality of the JRF 2026, which left a positive impression and served as an example for running events in Indonesia.

"I think this could be a role model for marathons, half marathons, and 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer races in Indonesia. I'd like to express my gratitude to the Jakarta Running Festival for its excellent and memorable organization. What was truly remarkable was the non-stop cheering throughout the event," he said.

Pramono, who took part in the 10 kilometer (10K) category, managed to complete the race with a time of 1 hour 49 minutes.

He revealed that the time he achieved was still above his previous personal record of 1 hour 32 minutes.

"It's true that I didn't break any records today. I didn't achieve a PB (personal best), I did 1 hour 32. Honestly, I was already out of breath. But the first thing that made me excited was the cheering, and the second thing was the huge number of people asking for photos. But I really enjoyed it and congratulations to JRF," he explained.

Pramono also highlighted the air quality at the start of the race, which he said was at 65–66. He believes maintaining air quality is crucial for ensuring public comfort while exercising in Jakarta.

"Many people expressed their gratitude for the excellent air and the orderly execution. I express my gratitude for the excellent air and the excellent execution," he added.

Before competing in the 10K race, Pramono arrived at the GBK area at 3:38 AM. He wore all black, from his hat and t-shirt to his sweatpants, along with white shoes.

On the chest of his jersey was a BIB (Body Identification Number) that read "DKI 1." Pramono revealed that his preparation for the event was quite short due to limited rest time leading up to the race.

"My preparation was actually that I wanted to sleep at 9 PM last night, but I probably only slept at 1 AM and woke up at 3 AM because the flag was off at 4 AM this morning," he stated.

In addition to participating in the 10K category, Pramono also conducted a flag off or release of participants in the full marathon category with the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI), Tigor M. Tanjung; the President Director of PT Kelompok Lari Anak Bangsa, Dickie Widjaja; and the Race Director of myBCA Jakarta Running Festival (JRF) 2026, Donny Tjahyadikarta.
