Jakarta Running Festival Shows High Potential for Continuous Growth

Jakarta Legislative Council Commission B Vice Chairman Wahyu Dewanto commended the successful hosting of the Jakarta Running Festival (JRF) 2026 at Central Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) stadium complex.

He noted that the race, featuring runners from home and abroad, was well-organized and presents strong potential for further expansion.
Wahyu, who took part in the races across both days, praised the seamless event execution, vibrant crowd support along the route, and high-quality medals and rewards as standout features.

“Having run in the JRF two days in a row, the organization was solid with plenty of room to grow. Fortunately, we also enjoyed favorable weather and good air quality in Jakarta,” he expressed, Tuesday (10/27).
Wahyu proposed adding local Jakarta elements to future medals and widening registration outreach to boost turnout.
He hopes involvement from local and central figures will enliven future editions, expressing optimism that JRF will become a top national running event.
