91 Vehicles Get Free Emissions Tests at S. Jakarta Mayor's Office"Motorized vehicles are one of the main sources of air pollution in Jakarta. Yesterday's emissions tests were crucial to assess public compliance and encourage greater awareness of the impact of exhaust emissions," she said, Friday (10/30).
She explained that the activity involving 25 joint personnel succeeded in inspecting 127 motorized vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled.
"A total of 107 vehicles were declared to have passed the emissions test, while 20 other vehicles did not meet the established threshold," she added.
According to her, routine emissions testing law enforcement activities are carried out four times a year. Therefore, the public is encouraged to perform regular vehicle maintenance and ensure their vehicles meet exhaust emissions regulations.
"Let's contribute to minimizing air pollution starting from the vehicles we use every day," she appealed.
Meanwhile, one of the online motorcycle taxi drivers, Gozali (41) admitted that he was surprised when his vehicle was stopped by officers.
"I was initially shocked. I thought it was a motorcycle registration check, but it turned out to be an emissions test. My motorcycle is new, and after the emissions test, it finally passed. Thank you to the government for providing free emissions testing. It's certainly a great help," he admitted.
